"Ernies List"
OK Here's the situation...
Ernie is the Keeper of THE BOOK, yes that one. This is his first year in charge of keeping it secure and the little ELF has lost it. Well that's what he's telling everyone at least. He said he'll tell somebody where it's at but they have to be worthy of that knowledge. He'll know that by having them complete some of his riddles, quests, and challenges before he decides who's really worthy of returning THE BOOK to Julenissan (Santa).
Check the site because Ernie has started to give out his first hints on how teams will earn points to have the honor of getting on the Good List for eternity.
His rules so far are:
1. Have a team name and team members to him by Oct 22nd
2. Be prepared for him to change the rules as he sees fit (entertaining)
3. Comeback to this page often for hints, clues and new ways to get points.
4. He knows this will challenge will cover 2 of your Holidays & the leadup to the Big Day! He said that's a hint.
5. The Challenge will take place at your own free will as well as 3 or 4 "Neutral" Locations.
6. If there is travelling involved you will get up to 24 hrs notice to be at that challenge location.
7. You can win without travelling. ?? I THINK ??
8. There will be a deadline for anything you can earn points for.
9. Either Ernie or I will send out these things to do to earn points either by... This site / FB Messenger / or his bokmail.
10. Ernie loves to have a good time, so even though he has some rules....he also can be liberal in handing out bonuses along the way that go above and beyond so look out for those too.
This race is, as you can see is a little different than ones in the past. It is new to some people and because of that they need a little coaxing to really get into it. It covers 2 holidays and the lead up to the big day CHRISTMAS!!!! We all know that we get busier as it gets closer and time is more precious so it would be difficult to match up schedules and then find a clear and somewhat warm day to race on. The teams are spread apart even more than they were 15 years ago sooo... This race is something a little different than the Veterans are used to. I still hope that it will be just as / or maybe a new kind of....FUN.
The race will last until Dec 18th or 19th. "WHAT!? That's like forever!!!" well not really and that's the point. Teams will be able to choose when they are at 100% and when they can take it slow and complete challenges more leisurely. Maybe you have plans that takes you out of it for a couple days... well now you won't drop back to the Blitzen place for the rest of the race.
> Each week there will be 20 new challenges and ways to earn points.
** There will be a Bonus each week that when completed will give the first team to complete it a chance to "Bad List" another team. IE So the Wooley Boys get the Bonus 1st/They choose DCP to be put on the Bad List/ DCP has to finish the Good List Challenge before they can submit anything else for that week. At the end of the week Everyone goes back on the good list.
The points will be the same for each week:
#'s 18, 19 & 20 = 250 points
#'s ODD = 50 points
#'s EVEN = 100 Points
Total Points Available each week are 2000
> There will still be random Daily Challenges for quick xtra points.
> In addition to these Weekly Points and Daily Challenges there will be AT LEAST one in person race event in Washington, Oregon, and Colorado. The place and date will be announced with enough, but little time to prepare or get your team together. If you have a team sponsor that will fly you around the world, feel free to hit all the "in persons" up. Anyone can be there and it doesn't have to be the entire team.
> Last note for now: This race can be played by one person and won or can be played by 20 people and lost. If you know someone who wants to test their luck tell them to email Ernie and join (they just won't be able to get the points that have already closed).
